Welcome to the Author’s Guidelines for the third edition of Reading Like a Lawyer. These guidelines correspond with the exercises that are at the end of most of the chapters in the book. (If you are using an older edition of the book, you’ll find that there are changes in the third edition, but you may still find that many of these guidelines are useful to you). Remember, reading law is challenging and requires you to be fully engaged as you read. The guidelines on this site are here to help you develop as a reader of law — but to acquire this new skill, you should have well thought-out, interesting answers of your own. The author wishes you much success as you grow in your legal reasoning and legal reading abilities.
